Babe Trader

Changes

Oct 31, 2026 No more "traded this picture too many times" lockout — and every purchase now has a 5% fee. The limit on buying the same picture from the same owner is gone, so you can keep fighting over a picture for as long as you're willing to pay. In its place, a 5% fee is added on top of the price of every purchase. The fee is removed from the game, not paid to anyone: the seller still gets the full price, and the fee doesn't raise the price of the picture for the next buyer. Buy buttons show the total you'll pay. Passing a picture back and forth to run up its price used to cost nothing; now every trade costs something. We've also doubled the buying speed limit from 15 to 30 purchases a minute, so you should see the "Slow Down" message far less often.

May 10, 2026 No more setting your own sell price, no more auctions vs buyouts — every picture is always biddable. The price you see is the next bid, calculated automatically from what was last paid (the same ladder that already applied while a picture was under auction). Owners can no longer set arbitrary prices, because the game stopped feeling like a game when a few players were parking pictures at absurd numbers and just sitting on them. This is supposed to be a fight over pictures, where you each have to decide when one's gotten too expensive and walk away — not a hoarding contest. Anything you own can be bid away from you at any time at the next ladder price. The Auctions tab is now Recent Activity (recent sales + freshly-listed pictures), and there's a new Price tab to find the cheapest pictures to start fights over — or the most expensive if you want to know what's hot.

May 28, 2019 We have made several bug fixes and enhancements. The Lost and Sold picture pages now show most recent ones first. Yes you still can't control how they are sorted. That will come eventually but this sorting makes more sense than sorting by pageviews. Quests should all be working including the buyback and a new Buyback 10 Pictures quest. Oh and did I mention the Discover page should actually be useful now? There is an issue where you can get logged off of this site while logging into other sites which has caused users issues when their quests don't update properly. I added better feedback on this so you will know if you have been logged out. Just log back in for now. I'm looking at some Single Sign On solutions to keep you logged into all the sites once you are logged into one. I also fixed a bug where pictures wouldn't show up in your lost lists if multiple people have bought it since you lost it. Clearing those pictures out of the list is coming soon, but for now just ordering by lost date will have to be enough

Mar 3, 2019 We are going to be making some changes to the way pictures are priced. It hasn't been decided what that means yet but here is the discussion, let us know what you think: BabeTrader changes
